Video and Photo Policy
We want to make sure that Lone Fir Fitness is a safe space where all members can feel relaxed and in their bodies and put cellphones and the stresses of the outside world aside. We will however occasionally need to take photos and video.
Gyms can be intimidating spaces for new members - people worry that it will be very competitive or macho, that everyone will be very young and in peak physical shape, that it will be full of impenetrable jargon, and that they will feel excluded, judged and uncomfortable.
It is one of our greatest strengths as a community that none of that is true here, and we really want to make sure people know that they will be welcome whatever their identity and fitness level. Saying this in words is one thing, but showing people in images and video is far more powerful and convincing.
Studio video/photos
We will endeavor to keep any videos/photos to the absolute viable minimum
Unless we have explicit consent from an individual, all photos/video will be background shots, i.e. we will never take close-up photos/video on anyone's face/body
We will write PHOTOS/VIDEO in the name of a class so that everyone knows well in advance
We will write in the description of that class what use we intend to make of these images; this will usually be for our website, print materials and/or the Lone Fir instagram account
Signing up for any class with this labelling and description constitutes consent for us to use the images/video as described
Member video/photos
No-one may take photos or video in class, of themselves or anyone else, without explicit permission from Thomas and/or Greta. Please email studio@lonefir.fitness at least 7 days ahead of the session for permission and we will consider on a case-by-case basis.
Thank you so much for your cooperation and feedback. We won't always get this right, but we assure you that we are trying our absolute best.
