REBECCA BRITT

As a child, I was focused solely on sports. Whether playing, watching, or simply dreaming of becoming a professional athlete, I had my life planned out. However, as life often has other plans for us, I found myself mired in health complications in my 20s and barely able to function. It was a super slow process, but by my mid-30s I had a normal enough life. I was practicing yoga and learning about compassionate communication.

In my 40s I discovered the world of resistance training and decided to make a career shift to incorporate my new-found love of intense exercise and exercise science into how I connect with myself, as well as with others. My struggles have taught me how to have self-care, self-compassion, and an eagerness for each day as they come.

I’m currently pursuing an Exercise Science degree at Portland Community College and live in SE Portland with my wife, stepson, and furry 4-legged children. I spend most of my time taking care of my mind, my body, my family, and our home. I am happiest engaging with others in a way that promotes growth for the self or for the community. Whether in an exercise class, hiking, snowboarding, bouldering, or cycling, I try to incorporate movement into each and every day. I have nearly 20 years of experience in various fitness industries and I’m eager to share my passions in order to help others more fully enjoy their lives.
